The main functions of the 09-3X Dynamic Tamping Express include levelling, lining, tamping and stabilising, while additional functions (such as ballast ploughing, sleeper end consolidation and track brooming) may be integrated within a single machine consist, if required.
The stabilising portion of the machine consists of a heavy section frame supported on a two bogies and is connected to the main machine. The dynamic track stabilising units, mounted on the trailing frame, perform controlled vibration and settlement on the track just tamped.
